The Journey

With adrenaline in the blood, with the thrill of the chase, with muscle machines taking a grip, sweeping stages and pushing the limits, we at JK Tyre believed while others were doubting, and put our foot down only to begin with a bang! JK Tyre Motorsport was conceived 30 years ago with the noble idea of bringing world-class motorsports to India. It endeavored to create an eco-system to provide racing opportunities to enthusiasts and an instant thrill to speed lovers in the country. Behind all this, went a lot of hard work and sweat to convert pieces of land covered in dirt into world-class race-tracks attracting world- class racers. Over the last ten years, the company has invested over Rs 300 crores to create and develop a world-class infrastructure.

JK Tyre ventured into the fast lane in the early 90's, sweeping the National Rally Championship for seven years straight! JK was quick to discern the changing trend and came up with the novel concept of circuit racing in 1997. It conceptualized the JK Tyre National Racing Championship to not only give aspiring youngsters a platform to hone their skills but also offer fans a viewerfriendly racing event.

The JKNRC proved to be a hit and became the most important and prestigious event on the FMSCI's national calendar. The championship evolved with each year, keeping pace with international changes and improvement in technology that helped India's young racers to move with the time.

In 2000, we took another step to encourage budding racers in their formative years by introducing 4-stroke go-karting in India. And in 2005, that's when the National Rotax Max Karting Championship was introduced. Its introduction paved the way for even seven-year- olds to learn and hone their skills so that they could graduate to the next level at the right age.

Our cars in the national racing series evolved from the Maruti 800 to world-class engines that roar at the tap of the foot. In the late 90s & early 2000s, we had Formula Chevrolet & Formula Hyundai as part of our main grid. We introduced the super saloons as well, which slowly saw the arrival of hatchbacks like the Polo and sedans like the BMW & Vento. JK in 2011 took a giant leap and made the biggest announcement in the history of the Indian motorsport. The company took over the Formula BMW Asia Pacific Series and rendered it as the JK Racing Asia Series. The Series saw a line-up of drivers from all corners of the world.

Our commitment towards motorsports eventually paid dividends with Narain Karthikeyan emerging on the scene as a potential world-class racer. He finally made the grade in 2005, becoming India's first F1 racer. Karun Chandhok followed in his footsteps, making the grade in 2010. Both of them not only cut their teeth in our championships but proudly wore our colours on the world stage. Other success stories became regular features, with racers like Armaan Ebrahim, Aditya Patel, and more recently Arjun Maini (who has been signed by the F1 team Haas as a developmental driver) making JKNRC a force to reckon with.

The JK Super Bike Cup was introduced in 2014 and has received a tremendous response. The two-wheeler biking event features two thrilling classes of races – The 600cc Super Bikes Cup & a 1000cc Super Bikes Cup, both these events feature at the prestigious JK Tyre National Racing Championship.

In 2017 we went an extra mile and JKNRC extended its domain to the two-wheeler category. We joined hands with Suzuki and launched the JK Tyre Suzuki Gixxer Cup (over 16 years of age) and the Red Bull Road to Rookies Cup (age 12 to 16 years). For this National Bike Championship, we had scouted the best bikers in the country and provided them all the support and training they needed to become international racers.

From the dazzling arena of the go-karting championship to the hottest matches across major racing circuits, JK Tyre has always strived to bring to you the most adrenaline- pumping action since the last 21 years and counting.
